2 of Me

Entrepreneur, busy mother of two Alison De Cruz needed a copywriter to pull together marketing collateral for the launch of her London based concierge service. After an initial consultation, it was clear she needed short, persuasive copy to work across web, personal profiles and direct sales materials, to reflect her company’s efficient approach. I drafted digital and offline copy that captured the tone of voice she was looking for.

“Suzy understood my needs as a start-up and provided copy that was just the right tone at a very reasonable price” Alison de Cruz

Hypnotherapy for Women

Hypnotherapy for Women is an established complementary therapy business. Owner Alexandra Rickard had already invested in a website, networking and local advertising. She needed a strong sprinkling of social media stardust to enliven the brand and engage customers. I started gently with a couple of blogs and over time we continued to build brand profile online, using established social media tools to talk to customers directly about the benefits of this uniquely powerful therapy.

“Everyone loves your article, very well written!” Alexandra Rickard

First Great Western

Network Rail’s train operating companies have the relentless task of keeping customers abreast of fast-moving and disruptive investment programmes at busy stations like Reading. Working at First Great Western, I came up with the idea of developing a free ‘Metro’ style newspaper with content that would strike the balance of updates on future disruption, customer benefits and feedback. Reading Station News was born! Customers reacted positively to this direct communication and the chance to voice their opinions. I conducted interviews, wrote copy and edited RSN within the wider communications and design team. A fantastic legacy project.

“Suzy made a sterling contribution in helping us to better the customer experience during periods of improvement work and more historically managing the Jubilee Train Wrap!” Philip Edgerton, Marketing Director, Great Western Railway

FARA Charity Shops

FARA charity shops were redefining the face of charity retail in London, creating a customer-led experience focused on quality donations. My contribution: writing 50 snappy shop descriptions for their website, staff newsletter content, crafting arresting Twitter content (carefully balancing charity news with #handbagfriday!). I doubled their follower numbers, building relationships with key influencers and potential fashion-house donors along the way.

"Suzy fitted in really well with the team and made an invaluable contribution to our marketing output." Jemma Banks, Marketing Manager, FARA Charity Shops.
